The Folly Beach Fishing Pier extends from the coastline out into the Atlantic Ocean further than any structure along the Charleston area coastline. It is centrally located, right in the middle of the Folly Beach commercial area at the end of Center Street. There is a restaurant and gift shop located at the entrance to the pier, and plenty of parking in the area. The pier offers a long walkway and a large two-level covered shelter at the end. The pier is popular with fishermen. You can get some good views of the surf action from here.
The fishing pier is tall, long and impressive. There is a second floor observation deck at the end of the pier. I recommend visiting the pier if you are in the area.

We were able to briefly visit the fishing pier, however it closed early because of a private function. This was very disappointing. I suggest you check the schedule on the Folly Beach website before venturing there.
There was a nice view up the coastline from the end of the pier.
