Vickery's

Vickery's lies along Shem Creek in Mount Pleasant. Shem Creek is truly one of the nicest views in Charleston. Shrimp and fishing boats line the creek. Vickery's offers a variety of seafood, low country cuisine, and burgers in a pub style setting. There is a large indoor dining area, and ample seating outside on the decks. If you have the time and the weather is nice, try the outdoor seating at sunset.

Charles' Review

May 2017

We returned after several years and went straight for the fried green tomato tower- still one of my very favorite appetizers.  They are served with pesto and marinara sauce.

December 2010

As I mentioned on the RB's review, we usually make it to Shem Creek once during each trip, but this time we doubled up with a visit to Vickery's too! I decided to go with one of the specials for dinner: Blackened Mahi with pico de gallo and a caesar salad. The Mahi was cooked perfectly and was so tender and moist. The pico complemented it perfectly. We chose - as always! - the fried green tomato tower for appetizer. It comes layered with goat cheese and drizzled with marinara and basil pesto. I freely admit that we eat up a bunch of fried green tomatoes while in the Charleston area, but the fried green tomato tower is by far our favorite!

November 2007

I had the loaded chicken breast. The pimento cheese was a very different flavor in the chicken, but I enjoyed it. The vegetables were a little undercooked this time around, though. I look forward to trying the Mojo Chicken on our next trip. May 2006 The fried green tomato appetizer is very good. I had the pan seared grouper and really enjoyed it.

May 2007

For our appetizer, we ordered the Fried Green Tomato Tower layered with herbed feta, tomato sauce & basil oil. The tomatoes were firm, crisp, and thickly cut. In a thin batter, they were very tasty with the creamy feta and herb layers. It was a very unique twist on the traditional Southern fried green tomato. For entree, I chose the three sauteed crabcakes, which were served with black bean and corn relish, spicy remoulade, and garnished with marinated roma tomatoes. The crabcakes were modest, but flavorful. Prices are very reasonable here. Fantastic sunset view! November 2007 update - Vickery's is a repeat success! The view of the sunset over Shem Creek from the deck is outstanding! This time I had the grilled Jerk chicken with raspberry sauce for my entree. It was served with black beans and rice, and fried plantains. Delicious! The sweet raspberry sauce was a superb complement to the spicy jerk flavor. So good that I brought the leftovers all the way home to Georgia with me. Vickery's is a good bet for anyone!
